Decibel Flekx

Decibel (dB). :-<> A logarithmic measure of sound intensity. It is equal to 10 times the common logarithm of the ratio of sound intensity to reference intensity. A rating of 85 dB is loud, and prolonged exposure to those sound levels could damage hearing. One decibel is the amount by which the pressure of a pure sine wave of sound must be varied in order for the change to be detected by the average human ear. The decibel can express an actual level only when comparing with some definite reference level that is assumed to be zero dB.

Flekx (Flex): - A measure of how much a certain part will bend under varying degrees of pressure or force. Every part will bend or flex some more than others.


In 1993 Decibel Flekx had gotten his first opportunity to DJ at an all night Electronic Dance Music event. Before that had occurred he was gaining knowledge of the culture at the legendary NASA parties in NYC. As the time went on Decibel Flekx had made the move from the shadows of the crowd to the man behind the turntables controlling the bodies in the crowd. It was after his first nerve racking experience in front of a crowd of 300 dancing lunatics, Decibel Flekx knew this was his calling.

Since Decibel Flekx’s inception, He has earned the privilege to DJ at major clubs in NYC such as, the Tunnel, Sound Factory (Now Pacha), and a main floor performance@ the Legendary Limelight (Now Avalon). Decibel Flekx has been traveling the East Coast extensively, spreading the sounds of Techno one State at a time. As the years went buy, he found himself wanting more out of the music.  This triggered the interest in looking into the technology required to produce the music he loves. Naturally, Decibel Flekx took it to the next level by producing his own creations.   

Decibel Flekx remains very focused on his DJ career and Producing good Techno Music that will be sure to please for years to come.  At present time, Decibel Flekx is still pushing the limits of Techno Music.  He is also the Founder of Side By Side Foundation.  Side By Side Foundation focuses on spreading the knowledge of Techno Music relentlessly.  Taking pride in being a strong pillar for the industry to lean on when needed... Unity and Preservation is his goal! Some of his events have consisted of Powerhouse DJ's/Producers that have had a MAJOR effect in the Techno Community and our culture such as Glenn Wilson (1st time ever in the USA), Frankie Bones, Adam X, Heather Heart, Christian Wunch (1st time in USA),and Tim Xavier. Those are just to name a few of who he has had the pleasure of working with. The bridges Decibel Flekx built took years to form, quality in his work, and never rushing. The support beams are constructed of some of the finest materials available. The stability, longevity, and overall structure of the beams have created a platform for people to connect from city to city, with respect to their foundation.
